I had not seen that in a while and it was really great. As one of my istory professors says, history is as up to date as todays news.
There's a great line when Raisuli (Sean Connery) says to Eden Pidicaris:
"You see the man drawing water? As one skin empties, the other is filled. Right now you have the power, but you waste it . . .and Islam laps up evry drop as you spill them."
how prescient is that . . . and how chilling?
The ending is also great. T.R. (Brian Keith) nover a stuffed grizzly bear that he shot on the Yellowstone. Hanging from one of its claws is a note from Raisuli which reads:
"To Theodore Roosevelt - you are like the Wind and I like the Lion. You form the Tempest. The sand stings my eyes and the Ground is parched. I roar in defiance but you do not hear. But between us there is a difference. I, like the lion, must remain in my place. While you like the wind will never know yours. - Mulay Hamid El Raisuli, Lord of the Riff, Sultan to the Berbers, Last of the Barbary Pirates."
