Am I the only one who has a kitty who does this?
When I feed her she waits until everyone leaves the kitchen and she proceeds to remove EVERY morsel of dry food with her paw and knocks it everywhere. I mean everywhere. If you catch her in the act she sits in the middle of this mess like she just completed her masterpiece. I changed her dishes from deep ones to flat ones and she still is on a mission to make the biggest mess she can. She is so damn cute ya can't get mad. What is the point with this behavior? Anyone elses cat do this?

1. It gets attention ... perhaps she wants to be taught tricks. Anything
to be the focus of the ones she loves.

3. In my house, I call that "floor hockey"...
...the popularity of which runs a distant second to the ever-favorite "gravity game."

4. Cats are strange creatures
Someone on here has a cat that would get wet food every once in awhile as a treat. The cat wouldn't eat her wet food unless someone was petting her at the same time.

7. I had a tomcat who had to be petted while he ate!
He'd jump up to his perch to get his food and then he'd turn and look at me and wait for someone to scratch his back right in front of his tail before he'd begin eating. Then I could stop petting him. I'm not sure how he trained me to do this? When I had people feed him while I was on vacation, I had to tell them how to do the petting routine! ;)

6. My little one will sometimes use her paw to grab some food out of the bowl
and eat it from her paw. But she never makes a mess thank gosh.

8. No, but if I spill a piece or two of dry food while filling the bowl, I have one very OCD kitty...
....who walks around eating all of the spilled morsels before he'll touch what's in the bowl.

He also over-covers in the litterbox to the point that I often have to go tell him it's OK, he can stop now. Definite OCD.

12. One of mine has issues with the water dish.
He doesn't just paw at it gently before drinking the way some cats do. He pushes and flips the water dish everywhere, and the water mixes with the spilled cat food crunkles and crumbs. I'm so tired of cleaning up the slimey mess. We got one of those self watering dealies, but that only made it even worse. It just meant there was more water to fling everywhere. The joys of being owned by a cat.

13. Teach that cat some tricks.
Or at least that would be the thought that would enter my head in between the voices and other thoughts I have that I cannot mention on here. :P

"Dig, fig, dig, fwing, fwing, fwing, dig, dig dig"

16. Not that by mine does very odd things in the bathroom. She eagerly waits for me to
go in, and if I stand to pee she runs to the faucet and tries to drink from it; if I sit she weaves through my ankles and bites my hand.

The bathroom, near as I understand it, is her territory, and her conduct appears to amount to a greeting or welcoming of some sort.
