5. Kinda crappy

The spouse and I both came in 2nd in two different Toastmasters' speech contests and we totally should have come in first.

My spouse was particularly robbed, since she gave a really powerful speech about the Texas Convict Lease system, which the Nazis specifically studied as a model for their labor/death camps. She lost to a guy who gave a speech about how cab drivers in New York City are crazy. I kind of saw it coming. I mean, you're giving a speech to a panel of Texan judges... which one do they want to hear? The one about how Texas used to have racist death camps or the one about how New Yorkers are wacky?

Sigh.

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."
