Adventures in driving with a special photo for LizzieGrace
Off to the store for cat food, only one place nearby sells "California Natural" the preferred brand of my bosses.

OK I'm going!

Here's the first pic just for LizzieGrace

Here we are...

ARRGH they'll never believe me so here's proof! It was 10:00 am or so.

Well here's one of neighbors in front of Kroger where we went to try and bribe them with something else.

.

My neighborhood

For LizzieGrace again!

Whats left of my mailbox (again) This will be the 4th time I've had to replace this thing.

To the left of the door notice the his and her snow removal devices.

1. I'm dying!!

Corpus Christi??

"run run run
I think I hear a nun
hide all the whiskey you can find
if a nun comes near
say 'Sister, have a beer'
in the cellar of Corpus Christi"

Your house is beautiful. I love the yellow and white paint colors.

Looks like you've gotten what we have up here. There's a drift against my front door that's 18" deep. We're currently at a level 3 snow emergency. I hope it is changed soon. (And the plows show up...) I have plans tonight.

Thank you so much for sharing the photos.

Can't wait for the thaw and subsequent flooding. That means I can make a trip south to visit.

:)

2. I was hoping you'd post that song!

I can't drive past that church without thinking of you now!

Thank you for the complement, we were really lucky to be able to get it before everything fell apart.

Next time you're down this way can you just pick it out without an address? The mailbox is the only place to put an address on our street!

3. Between that song and 99 Bottles of Beer
we're drove many school bus drivers mad singing them over and over, especially since we passed the church twice a day to and from school. ;)

10. It's snow but my 20 year old car does really well in it!
The bosses said they'd take what they can get for today. Thanks CMW! :7

5. Okay, I'm not lizziegrace, but I just fell in luuuuuuuuuuuv
with your kitty. I could just bury my face in that beautiful, soft white fur! :swoon:

We had a cat food emergency in our home this week, too. Due to a miscommunication, CMW ordered many, many tins of Almo Nature Atlantic tuna for Ginger, instead of his beloved Almo Nature Pacific tuna. Boy, was _I_ in trouble when the box arrived from Zurich. There's nothing worse in the world than having The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger give that look: "Oh, you poor, unfortunate thing, to assume for a moment I would consume that inferior Atlantic tuna."

And yes, I spent a unbelievable amount of time on Friday to get to the nearest Almo Nature supplier to get Pacific tuna.

See what we do for our Kitties!
I'm glad you rectified your problem. I'm still in trouble! That is actually two cats (sisters) Antara, on the printer and Ariel in the cat bed, she thinks "all our cat beds are belong to me". These two came from the animal shelter in Colorado Springs. A friend of mine heard they were about to be put down (the breeder considered them "undesirables") so she brought them to my house in Denver when they were so tiny they had to stand on their cat food dish to eat.

I love cat stories!

9. It takes a lot to make me cry,
but the very thought of two kitties being scheduled for death breaks my heart. Thank you so much for seeing that Antara and Ariel are very, very desirable companions.

For you, times a jillion:

:yourock:

6. Awesome cat photo!
She actually has differently colored eyes? Cool. One of my students has one blue and one brown eye -- it's kind of jarring even after 6 months.

I feel a sudden chill after looking at the other photos though! Just for comparison:

Spring training is here and life is good. (Except for the little issue of Wrigley Field naming rights but that's a subject for a rant of tombstoning proportions.)

8. Oh yes a nice warm ball park and a nice cold beer!
I can't wait for that!

And yes two different colored eyes are hard to get used to. Thanks!

15. It's the life!
But.... I refuse to pay $7.50 for bad beer. I can get a 6 pack of Black Butte Porter or Sam Adams for that. Yeah, I'm a tightwad, another symptom of bushanomics.

7. Great photos, OB, and beautiful kitties!
Amazingly, we haven't gotten more than two inches at a time this year where I live in Western Pennsylvania. I feel so lucky! (I'm glad that I'm not the type who feels that because we didn't get it this year, next year's going to be worse.)

I hope that your little buddies appreciate your efforts. :)

11. This is our biggest snowfall so far this year. It really wouldn't be bad if
the plows could keep up with the snowfall. It is pretty though and it's supposed to warm up tomorrow into next week. Thanks IHAD.

12. Yay! Your pictures are awesome & you're a good cat mommy!
The snow is almost gone around Woodstock, NY.
Spring is here. The daytime temps for all of next week are above freezing!

I hope you won't need another new mailbox until this time next year. :hi:

17. Joanie! Where have you been? Having a good life I hope!
It's good that the snow is almost gone for you, I realize this is nothing in comparison.

It was fun being one of only a handful of people out today.

Thanks for the good wishes about the mailbox. The last two times it was in the summer and people just ran over it in broad daylight?? One was drunk and the other driver had a blackout and hit it. The policeman who came to bring me the mail, that was in the middle of the street after that, jokingly said that I still had one more time to have it hit, since bad things came in threes. I'm hopeful I can keep the next one for a few years!

I hope you are well and it is nice seeing you here again!

20. I've been hiding under the covers.

Honestly, I've been in too much of a funk to be good company on DU.

I'm gaining on some of the problems around here but still trying to find a peaceful way through the other ones.

I agree with you it is great to drive through the snow when everyone else is off the roads. We didn't get hit too badly this winter. The deepest single snowstorm was only 8". :bounce: I just really hate the cold weather.

19. I'm fighting all the pain that comes with bad weather.
I'm not winning, but I'm holding my own. :P

I can't imagine what shape I'd be in if I still lived in Buffalo, or anyplace with real winters.

Wow...Look at all the snow!

Amazing pics...

I love your "snow removal devices!"

Thanks for giving this California girl a glimpse of what it's like to live in such a climate... :scared:

22. I had a lot of fun driving out there today but I wouldn't want to have to
do it very often. I was actually born in California and raised in Texas so snow is still a wonder to me. It's really pretty but only if you don't HAVE to go anywhere.

Thank you! :hi:
