Christopher Reeve is Superman. No substitutes.

I saw the original Donner film last night and marveled at Reeve’s performance. He didn’t play Superman; he was Superman. His mark is as indelible as Bogart’s (Sam Spade), Leigh’s (Scarlett O’Hara), and McKellan’s (Gandalf). Just magical. And they only gave him two decent scripts.

I'll never be able to watch another iteration without wishing this man were alive, happy, healthy--and onscreen.

There will never be another Superman in my book. Christopher WAS Superman and nobody else can take his place.
