52 pounds gone
Today was a big day for me at my Weight Watchers meeting. I broke the 50-pound barrier. :woohoo:

The Weight Watchers meetings are kind of silly in some ways. People get little gold stars for losing another 5 pounds, key chains for losing 10% of their body weight and other things like that. Today, I got a little metal charm and a refrigerator magnet for losing more than 50 pounds.

But, even though it's silly, I look forward to going because it's such a good group. They're all going through the same thing and everybody is supportive. The funny thing about my group is that I am usually the only man there and often the only white person. I am always the only white male. The result: everybody knows who I am. And they all cheer big for me when I get an award. It's kind of cute, really.

Not all Weight Watchers meetings are the same way. In fact, I left one group in disgust before I found this one. However, I would strongly recommend the program to anybody thinking about taking off some pounds. It's worked for me and I feel great.

Weight Watchers and the YMCA (which is where I go to exercise) have changed my life.

2. Congrats. My mother was very successful with WW and exercise clubs. Even though
she is gone now I would like to think she would have kept the weight off. :) I hope you do too!

3. That's great. Hey, do you swim?
I did at the YMCA until my membership expired. That's remarkable that you lost that weight, and in a really healthy manner. I've heard good things about WW.

5. 50 fucking pounds?
Amazing!

Congrats, seriously. That takes dedication and hard work.

WW is a good way to go and you mentioned the YMCA and exercising, so it sounds like you are being sensible about this.

Anyway, congrats, I'm damn proud of you!

Khash.

6. Here's an even better diet!
Edited on Sat Mar-08-08 06:31 PM by ALiberalSailor
Get braces. You won't want to eat anything except soup and oatmeal. I've already lost 2 pounds, and I've only had them for 48 hours now. But, enough of my bitching. Congrats! :yourock:

7. Nice!
I was a heavy child and I went to weight watchers for a couple of years. I lost 30lbs. My Mother, bless her heart, drove me to the meetings and paid my dues. Weight Watches is great and it always helps to have group meetings.
