I kid you not. It's made, oddly enough, in Germany. There's a hilarious review (and movies!) here:

http://www.avclub.com/content/feature/taste_test_cheeseburger_in_a

Enjoy!

1. avclub.com is one of The Onion's sites, isn't it?
This is guaranteed to be good reading.

Thanks!

2. My favorite reaction:
"Boy, that taste really stays in your mouth, doesn't it?"

It just seems to summarize that entire article so very, very well.

9. I can't find the post in C&B. But there's a link in redpen's post that has the ingredients
in English. (There seems to be a lot of "wheat our" in that thing.)

Note the dates: SA covered this on Feb 5, and well looky looky looky, AV Club "discovers" it a couple of weeks later.

Look at the difference in the two pictures of the burger at the link!

I've had the frozen White Castle and they're bad enough. I can't imagine why anyone would try to put it in a can!!!

17. Those rats varied wildly in taste. Some were actually not horrible,
but of course it depended on your hunger level. Or if you're strange like me and actually LIKe Lima beans.

That doesn't EVEN sound appetizing. I would eat my arm first, I think.

Not sold in the U.S., unfortunately - it would be a fun thing for a backpacking trip. Next time I'm in Europe I plan to hunt some down...

20. Now wait just a cotton-pickin minute. How can they dehydrate wine, and still
have any alcohol content in it? I don't think they can.

I smell a rat. But who knows, maybe they use the rats for the cheeseburgers-in-a-can?

By the time I'd wrapped my brain around 'cheeseburger-in-a-can' I was ready to believe anything...

26. Indeed. Even if for no other reason than you'll never be humiliated by having to say:
"Yeah, I ate a Cheeseburger-in-a-Can."

Hey, you'll like this: the Little Guy wanted to eat some Corn Dogs tonight. The store was out of "real" ones, so we bought a box of non-meat (I won't use the word "veggie") corn dogs, and he actually like them better than the hog-and-cow-based ones! He ate four of them in fact.

And as for you, m'dear, it's off to bed with you as well if you know what's good for you. There's art to be made tomorrow, and it's waiting for you.

31. I've seen the cheeseburger-in-a-can in an article before
but the writers of that article weren't brave enough to test it themselves.

They also mentioned another product, I think it was by the same company: Powdered wine. That's right. It looks like kool-aid powder, but it's supposed to be wine. For when you can't carry the bottle with you when you're going camping. :\
