After visiting my son (two hour trip each way),
his mother and I stop at the neighborhood pub for a beer.

but i know an assault charge isn't the worst thing a person can get.

that is, if the police even pressed the issue in the first place (once you knocked the shit out of the guy).

i DO know that most beatings are over in 8-20 seconds and a person can be far away from the scene.

especially if you were among friends at the bar.

corroborating statements at the initial investigation of the scene most of the time make it all go away even before handcuffs come out.
