Alternatives to "thrown under the bus"

Good lord, is this the most overused cliche on DU. I'm sick of it. Let's come up with some alternatives.

"Some people on DU are kicking (insert former hero)'s legacy in the balls."

That's what I'm going to use from now on. Show me what you've got.

How about, "kicked to the curb", "silenced", "shunned", disbelieved, disenfranchised, no longer credible, Off the A list,

Can't think of any more right now. Not even sure if the above suggestions fit.

Or, you could stick with the transportation theme.

As in... "I'm just stunned that one of our party's greatest leaders would just hurl Candidate X off a cliff onto the pointy, point rocks below."
