8. No I think she was at Union Station Saturday
We saw a waitress wearing what looked like her bra on the outside of her shirt and decided she was twenty years too late to be Madonna (well that and it wasn't quite pointy enough):D

27. Yes she does
I've seen her three times - she sings live.

If it was prerecorded, it would be better. She has a passable voice - but that's not her attraction.

28. Even then she has pre-recorded music drowning her out...
...yeah, I will agree, though, that it's obviously not her voice that's the attraction.

It's two inches high and bolts right into any effects rack. Very easy to take on the road.

16. Piffle.
The fucking Eagles are in, why not Madonna? She may not be rock 'n' roll, but neither are half the milquetoast arena-whores in the Hall.

The standard isn't set by the Beatles, the Who, the Stones, Elvis, the Velvets, Little Richard, et. al... it's set by the bottom-feeders of rock history; the minimum threshhold for induction seems to be a giant inflatable stage set and a guest appearance on "Miami Vice."

Madonna may not be the Who, but she's a damn sight better than Glenn Frye or the Grateful Dead.

So, good for her.

17. It's set by who can sell the most, not who can innovate the most
Sure, King Crimson isn't one of your run of the mill rock bands but they have influenced generations of rock musicians with their innovated guitar work and progressive musings.

Moody Blues sold amazing records filled with orchesterial fillings and original spoken poetry. "Days of Future Past" is a legend when it comes to Album.

Hell for the creative artwork on their albums, Yes should without a doubt be in there.

And Jethro Tull - name me one band that can rock harder with the FLUTE as their lead instrument. Madonna rolled around in her undergarments? Hell Ian Anderson was doing that decades ago with his tights & codpiece outfits.

she had a huge impact on music and culture. She's one of the very few acts from the 80s that can still sell out arenas.

31. The Hall of Fame is about Fame, not about art. How famous was she?
I'm mean, what do you expect? It is a tourist attraction seeking maximum tourist dollars, so you induct the most POPULAR, not necessarily the best rock artists.

and it is tough dragging tourists to Cleveland.

I wouldn't call what she does rock at all, but that is true of many inductees.

33. I've always enjoyed Madonna's music and admired how she's handled her stardom
Some of my favorite Madonna songs (scrolling an MP3 folder):

Live to Tell
Express Yourself
Beautiful Stranger

Sure, she hasn't always made the best choices, but compared to a psycho chick like Britney Spears, for whom I can't name a single tune I care about, Madonna seems exquisitely normal.
