Ooo....costume pics from the Watchmen movie!

http://movies.yahoo.com/slideshows/generic/watchmen.html

For the most part everyone looks pretty good. Nite Owl isn't fat enough and Ozymandias isn't as pretty as I would have expected, but overall it looks good.

Now if they just don't fuck up the movie.

3. I seriously can't see how they can make such a layered graphic novel into a movie.
And there is very little that they can cut out (maybe the lesbian couple and the psychologist who interviews Rorschach and the folks running the free press rag).

2. I agree.
Nite Owl should be older and fatter. And Ozmandias should be more of a pretty boy.

But it still looks like it might be really good.

5. Silk Spectre looks they way I figured
but I don't like it. She doesn't look like she has any muscle tone.

But that's my gripe with the way a lot of female superheroes are portrayed. Even if they portray her right I'm not going to like it. :(

6. I think you pretty much summed up what was bugging me.
She doesn't really look intimidating. This would be more of the look she should have:

7. Interesting Trivia
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 11:25 PM by theredpen
A guy named Todd Tucker worked on this film as the creative director of Drac Studios, which provided most of the special makeup effects. Tucker also played a superhero named "The Aggressor" in a 4th-season episode of "Charmed" entitled "Witches in Tights" (not their best title).

OK, maybe that trivia's not all that interesting, but it is geeky.

18. Jude Law was going to be Ozymandias. He might have been perfect but his schedule didn't allow it.

9. "Now if they just don't fuck up the movie."
I think that Terry Gilliam was last, best hope for the adaptation.

I am however, keeping an open mind.

12. I must be a comic book cretin
I'd never even heard of Watchmen until the movie was announced. What's their deal? Do they fight crime or commit them? The latter would be interesting.

13. "Watchmen" was written by the same guy who wrote "V for Vendetta".
The book is set in an alternate version of 1985.

Nixon is serving his fifth term as president after winning the Vietnam war and the subsequent repeal of the 22nd Amendment.

The book is so densely layered that it's really impossible to summarize it effectively. Any movie to do it justice it would have to be 4 hours long.

It's the comic book equivalent of Moby-Dick.

15. You've got to be effin' kidding me, DS1. I would imagine that this would feed your very soul.
Go out to your local comic book store (perhaps the local chain bookstore has it in graphic novels or sci-fi) and dig in.

Be prepared to re-read it several times, and to be pissed that you loaned it to someone immediately after reading it for the first time, and then you never see it again and have to buy another copy. Don't wait too long to buy the second copy.
