I had PT today for my messed up shoulder (had to put off the whole PT thing while my daughter was sick). Toward the end of the session, my upper arm muscles were so fatigued that they were trembling under the mass of the 1 pound weight.

:wtf:

1. I can design a rehab plan...
especially for the scapular stabilizers and rotator cuff muscles that could make the beefiest football players fatigue in a couple of minutes using only a 1 pound weight. Nobody thinks to work those tiny shoulder muscles until they get injured... :)

2. I was almost whimpering by the end of my session
And I have a fairly high tolerance for pain.

3. yeah they suck big time
I actually did my senior presentation on scapular instability and rotator cuff injuries when I was in college.

Have they done any joint mobilization on you? That sucks about 10 times as much especially if you have any joint adhesions

5. What is joint mobilization?
My diagnosis is severe tendonitis of the rotator cuff and biceps tendon and the shoulder is in the beginning phases of freezing.

Most of what he had me do today was isometrics.

7. joint mobs can be best described as...
incremental rocking back and forth of the joint to increase range of motion. But if there are adhesions that are causing the joint to "freeze" or stick together, they sometimes need to be worked out and the breaking up of the adhesions are what make the joint mobilization so painful.

9. The therapist did a little of that today too.
Plus I had an ultrasound treatment.

He said that the joint was more mobile than when he did the initial assessment (woohoo) but it is clear that my tendons are still barking at me.

6. More like screaming at you...
I need to get back to the gym, but really have to be careful since I have this injured shoulder that I need to rehab.
