Have you ever heard of "Taco Bueno"
Fast food, Mexican (a la Taco Bell, Taco Johns, etc.)

They opened one up a mile from my house less than 6 months ago in the parking lot of a fairly busy shopping center. Brand new building.

We went by the shopping center today. All the signs are off the building, and the store is closed.

Other recent casualties in our nearby area: Mo's Southwest, Sheridans Custard, and Aunt Emma's ( a Vietnameese place called OMai moved into that location).

1. Interesting. I've never eaten there, but the ones in this area seem to get
a decent amount of business (so. TX)

2. I call it Taco No bueno
Taco Bell is better, believe it or not. But we are ass-deep in REAL Mexican restaurants around here (Corpus Christi) so, unless you are in a particular hurry, there is no need to eat at the fast food ones.

4. Surprisingly enough, many of those are disappointing - I guess because
we grew up eating Mexican food from a different region. Greetings from Flour Bluff. :hi:

3. I used to eat at them in Dallas. Decent for bad tex-mex, I guess. Better than the Bell.
But that was almost twenty years ago. They don't have any in Austin, I don't think. Used to have one up north of here, but it's long gone. Didn't know they were out there so far.
