2. I put myself on ignore long ago when I realized that...
if I and myself think the same way then one of us is unnecessary. I wasn't about to ignore I, so myself had to go on ignore.

3. I (honestly) don't know what this is about.
I have, however, put people that I agree with on ignore when they are continuously being just as inflammatory, illogical, and embarrassing as people I don't agree with.

Again, I really have no idea what this is about, but you might want to consider how you're phrasing your posts. If your ideological opposite posted the same thing that you did (only supporting his/her point of view), how would you feel?

5. Nah.
One of the posters has been putting everyone he disagreed with on ignore, including thoughtful, non-abrasive posts. The other I still can't figure out, but I've not lost sleep over more perplexing issues, so I'll manage, somehow. I vaguely recognized the name, so maybe it was residual from some previous era around here.

27. People seem to have gotten into the habit of announcing that they're putting someoone

on ignore. Strangely, though they apparently loathe the person, they also seem to feel this compulsion to use a cutesy diminuative of the word (iggy / iggie) while advising them.

Edit: s/the/they/

28. It continues to amaze me that...
1) People put ANYONE on ignore. Do they think these words are going to jump out and kill them or something?

2) People ANNOUNCE that they are putting you on ignore. Just do it for cryin' out loud.

3) People tell others in PM that they have put you on ignore. I mean...this always makes me think "lose your self importance, put me on ignore, shut the fuck up about it, and move on in your little ignored world"

29. Really. Although there are valid reasons for putting someone on
ignore. Mine would be because I have a really bad temper, and generally don't do a good job of filtering output in a diplomatic way when I'm angry. A character flaw on my part, I'm sure, but I'd rather put someone on ignore than blast a fellow board member. It rarely happens, and I don't keep them on ignore for more than a few days - just long enough to give myself a "time-out."

30. I understand your point...
and I have a bit of a temper myself, but I just let it fly in here, just like I do in real life

I try my best to keep my cool...sometimes it doesn't work.

I have a philosophy about these message board communities. I show myself...warts and all. :) :hi:

Good post qnr.

33. I think the ignore feature is juvenile, in most cases.
And announcing you're putting someone on ignore is even more juvenile.

However, the ignore feature can be great for people who are having more serious problems with posters.
