6. Thanks ThomCat. It is nice (if hot) and the people are pretty friendly. I do what I can,
being an anti-social grumpy old fogey that still happens to love humanity :)

10. Ah! Maybe I'll have a chance to yell "Yield does NOT mean 'come to a full
screeching halt for a car 400 yards away'" at you as we're on SPID - It's kind of a custom for me these days  :hi:

11. i'll make sure to ONLY yield
But I yell the same thing...

Plus, I learned to drive in the DFW area, so I already know how to drive among the insane.

13. Ah, I miss Corpus. We lived there for a few months.
What's the name of that park by downtown, right on the waterfront?

The shoot off fireworks over the bay...

14. Cole Park? Every time there have been fireworks, they've the original
date has been rescheduled due to rain and we never made it back downtown for them, so I'm not sure exactly where they are shot from.

15. Hmmm...could be Cole. I remember these steps going down toward
the water (I think) and there was a big wooden jungle gym for the kids.

17. It was a beautifu day.
I went out to the beach and got sunburned. But the water is still pretty cold so I didn't really swim.

19. Thinking of Corpus
Makes me a little homesick. We moved to the Seattle area in 1995, but I had lived my whole life (32 years) in North Central Texas. I have fond memories of going to Corpus Christi many times and going to Padre Island too. That was such a beautiful place with beautiful beaches. I bet it has changed a huge amount since I saw it last.

20. Well, considering how much it has changed since we moved here last
year, I'm sure the changes would be huge for you.

21. I remember a restaurant in Corpus so good
I remember there was a place where they brought in the shrimp from their boat docked outside to the cook who cleaned and cooked them and brought them to you to eat. I think it was named "Black Diamond Oyster Bar" and those were the best shrimp I ever had in my life. Wow, that was like 30 years ago.

22. I've seen one, but I doubt it's the same one, unless there has been a
lot of landfill activity, it's nowhere near water.

23. It's possible
That could be the same restaurant in a different place. The place I remember was kind of tiny and not fancy on the outside, but very crowded. I kind of expect that building might be gone. If it's the same food I remember it is super good if it is the same. I also remember an Italian family restaurant that was really good too. It's probably gone by now. Can't remember the name of that one. I have always been in love with very good food so I kind of remember restaurants more than anything else about a place I've been.
