What's for dinner, lounge?
It's so nice here (finally) that we're cooking out some ribs, and we're having mashed potatoes, yams, a nice salad, and I'm enjoying a Leinenkugels while I type.

Whatcha havin' where you are?

4. I must be one brave person then. I use them all the time. In pasta sauces, on pizzas,
in some salad dressings, to make bagna cauda for dipping.

They're great on pizza with the caramelized onions - you get the salty/sweet/fatty/doughy thing all at once.

5. And in Caesar Salad
Eating anchovies always reminds me of my Sicilian great-grandmother, who made a homemade pizza with olive oil, homemade sauce, parmesan cheese, and plenty of anchovies.

"Eat, eat, eat you so skinny!!"

11. The campus cafeteria actually had surprisingly decent food for the weekend this evening.
:) Usually on the weekends, it's mostly "fix-your-own-sandwich" kind of stuff, but tonight they had turkey burgers (I think, lol), green beans w/shiitake mushrooms, apple curry couscous, and carrot cake! :9 I was excited. :P :hi:

20. A big plate of love and appreciation.
Caesar salad (homemade croutons and dressing), penne pasta with red sauce (made with affection and rosemary), sweet peas, and garlic bread. I married this guy I know and if that is all it takes to help him be happy, you bet it is on the table.

31. I had planned a nice dinner of
turnip greens with fried sliced sweet potatoes and turnips but I'm having one of my craptacular kitchen days. The sweet potatoes weren't cooked through enough. And, not paying close enough attention, I had accidentally grabbed one bunch of collard greens and one bunch of turnip greens at the store. I don;t like collard greens. The turnips were good, tho. I love turnips.
