Actually Scotland does have a wealth of musical talent, just not them. Belle and Sebastian and the Proclaimers are two that haven't been mentioned yet. And of course, this discussion wouldn't be complete without a nod to David Byrne, though the Talking Heads were formed on this side of the ol' puddle.

edit: phrasing, plus Mom, who is half Scottish (thereby making me one-quarter) went through a major AWB phase some years back (she was dating one of their producers). I wonder if she even knows they're Scottish (I did not until now)?

I love them. I was very sorry to hear that the lead singer, Stuart Adamson, took his own life a couple years ago. They were terrific.
