(2) celebrates the Ten Commandments as a significant aspect of the national life of the United States; and

Don't take the Lord's name in vain? Happens every time someone swears in on a Bible or says the Pledge of Allegiance or comes up with idiot ass legislation to put the Ten Commandments everywhere. Putting "In God We Trust" on our money when we don't mean it, and putting "Under God" in the pledge when we don't mean it is also doing so. (to say nothing of the apostasy of even saying the Pledge of Allegiance to begin with).

Don't murder? Our government does plenty of that.

Don't steal? HA HA HA!! That's a good one. No, we don't follow that.

Don't covet? Hello, Iraq oil? Central American minerals? Appalachian coal? Diamonds? Copper? Gold?

Don't bear false witness? Hello, Republican party. And especially our current administration, that loves to lie about foreign countries and about half of the American population.

Don't commit adultery? Bwuhahahaha! If we have, supposedly, a special relationship with God, then we're committing adultery every time we rely on the military, every time we rely on our money or power, and every time we make deals with known terrorists in order to further our own goals (Reagan and Bush First were good at that one).

Honor your mother and father? Well, okay, I don't know how to do that one - though perhaps it could be the rightwing lies about our forefathers, claiming that they were all Super Christians who wanted a Super Christian nation and that they all thought that eliminating our freedoms in the sake of safety was perfectly sound and appropriate, and that shredding the Constitution is a good way to honor their vision.
