I escaped two vehicular accidents in 15 minutes

I must have had a guardian angel this morning.....

I got off the highway and in the 15 minutes it takes to get to my office, I was nearly struck by two other cars. The first was when I turned left onto a road, and the SUV on that road was turning left out and almost t-boned me....and YES, I had the right of way and my turn signal was on.

About 10 minutes later, I turned my left turn signal on to pull into the driveway at work. I was at a complete stop, with the signal on when I heard really loud screeching and a little blue car went flying past me on the right - obviously had not noticed my brake lights nor my signal.

I did check the signal lights when I got to work to ensure they were still operational, just in case.

Phew - I wonder what the commute home has in store for me.....

5. 50-to-1 that the driver of the little blue car was talking on a cell phone. And the SUV driver

probably was too.

8. I did not notice if either one was on the phone...

The SUV driver was a woman in her 40's-50's. The other was what appeared to be a very young woman - maybe just out of high school.

I'm driving a 12 yr old gas-guzzling SUV. :( Hopefully, we'll be in the financial position to get a new car within the year. Fingers crossed....

I live in upstate NY and my commute is 35 miles each way.

18. When I'm on the road, I simply realize that everyone else out there is either

incompetent, idiotic, just plain crazy, or homicidal and out to kill me.

It makes the drive much more relaxing when I realize that. Because then I'm expecting people to do the crazy/stupid things they do, and so I don't have to panic because I've already prepared for the worst.
