Mock the IRS Thread:
Us wage-slaves do tediously plod,
While they tap a big chunk of our wad,
Those audits they churn up
To get blood from a turnip,
Making certain we all get scrod.

Okay, now it's your turn.

2. It's, simple. It's pure. It's elemental.
I'd give you 9.5 in eloquence.

10. In defense of the IRS...
They are merely the collection agency for the U.S. Congress.

12. True, but
they are often a group far too often mired in red tape, officiousness and overly concerned with collecting from the little guy. It might be different if Congress had some oversight, but as it is, the IRS is responsible to no one for their choices and behaviour; and this is often to the public's detriment.

13. Congress can change all that any time it wants...
Congress has oversight and Congress writes the tax laws.

But Congress doesn't exercise its authority and it continues to write tax laws the benefit the wealthy at the expense of the working class.

And then it blames the IRS.

15. Listen dOOd...
Midlo and I (and apparently others from posts in this thread) were commiserating over our IRS woes and this thread is just a way for us to vent a little steam in a humourous and constructive way.

I appreciate that you want to defend and educate, but maybe this is not the right place and time.

Now spew some mockery of the IRS or leave us to our misery. Thengkyou.

5. An IRS limerick
of my very own:

The Infernal Revenue Service
Makes most folks incredibly nervous
and few folks applaud it
when facing an audit
In fact, they begin feeling murderous!

18. I can't get enough for my kidney, apparently.
Have to sell BabyMidlo. She should fetch a good price, she's blond, blue eyed, smart, but she's a total mess maker so that brings the dollar amount WAY down.

16. It's just a vocabulary problem.
When they read the forms, it looks like "Income owed us" and "Incommode you."
