I miss my dog

He crossed the Rainbow bridge December 27th last year. I miss him every day. He was my bud for over 13 years. When you live alone, it hurts so much to lose such a close friend. My other silly dog (14 years old March 9th) doesn't make up for his loss. Even though she looks like a three year old in a clown suit.

I still miss him terribly.

3. I understand completely.
I have a home full of dogs, but MY big boy passed in June of last year, and I feel no less of a loss today as I did then.

My best to you.

6. My little Wheezie died on Christmas Day 2006
I spent all day with her on the couch. I went to see Dreamgirls that night, and I swear I could tell you at what in that movie she passed. I felt it.

She was the Grand Duchess of Washington DC. HRC Mimi Louise Hocheykooch, The Grand Duchess of Washington DC. She was called "Wheezie" for short. (because she was movin' on up, and because she wheezed)

I love that doggie to this very day.

7. Missing Them
The sorrow will never leave you. I lost Jake, also a Golden, six years ago. It helps to think of a room with a door partially opened (never completely closed). Most of the time my memories can stay in that room with the half open door but now and then the door opens and out comes the sadness. It just simply will never go away. I now have two Goldens - Murphy and Devon and that has helped take away the ache of losing Jake. I cringe whenever I think of losing Murphy or Devon but even though the pain can be unbearable I would not trade one precious, joyful moment of life with a dog by my side.

11. He was the smartest dog that ever owned me
He had an amazing vocabulary. I never taught him tricks. He learned to put his paw up when he wanted something, would sit next to me on the couch at night with his head on my shoulder, and loved to go out when I got home from work for a buttered roll a couple of nights a week at the little store down the block from where we used to live.

He'd take two tennis balls and go up to the top of the stairs on the second floor and play with them till they rolled down the steps and then run down and get them and start all over, for 20 or 30 minutes at a time. He never chewed up his toys, and his last toy in the picture was over five years old. Until his last few weeks, he never laid down out of sight of me, and when he would step up into bed at night, he always put his head on my shoulder and gave me a little kiss.

He loved my cats, he'd let them clean his face and sleep with him. When I had to split with my beloved ex for her health, and she took our other lab Zoe with her, he was upset for weeks because he missed her so. But I find myself crying often when I look at his pictures. I've had a bunch of great dogs and twice as many cats, but he was my bud. It sucks they can't live forever.

Thanks for reading.

17. My Zoe was a black Lab too
She passed of cancer in 2005 at the young age of eight. She was my Daughter's second dog. Her first, Pogo, passed at 11. She has had no luck with her animals. Her wonderful 12 year old cat Binx passed Oct 13th of 2006. She still has her rabbit (NINE YEARS OLD) Mickey. I don't know what I will do when Corey passes on. I will probably hope to adopt another fostered English Bull terrier, and hope to get another lab.

But it's not the same with my big guy gone. And my friends don't really understand how much I miss him. They aren't "animal" people.

19. hon....
I know what you mean......

I miss a dog we had...
her name was muffin

we were working on our first house and I was pregnant with our son.
the back door was open and these 3 pups come running in....
we closed the door, kinda made leashes then went door to door to find the owners...

when we found them they were frantic, security was breeched and the pups went missing... they were part poodle/beagle....Way before a poogle or what ever was cool...
said we could have 1 or 2 but not the 3rd
we chose our muffin.... she was a wire haired tri-color bunch of love....
grew up with our son when he was born..... she would let him do anything to her and kissed him in return.....

she breeched security again and got hit by a car.... we were all devastated....
she was human, we swear......
We had Shari to... she lived to be 16.... thats a story for another day

Muffin was a daughter.... Shari was a friend

lost

crap... now I'm crying for all our lost friends....

20. I understand, and I'm sorry.
:(

My first cat was with me from the age of 13 to 31. He kept me company through all the big stuff. I love my other cats immensely, but I think I'll always miss my Pixie the most of all. :(
