Meeting the Divine
I don't typically notice the other people who attend gem and mineral shows. There are too many shiny sparkly distractions to keep my eyes occupied. The other day, however, I looked up long enough to notice a young boy...mabe eight or nine years old, it was hard to tell...whose features led me to think he must have Down syndrome. He was clearly having a good time, and his sunny face glittered as much as any of the specimens that were for sale in the room. He made me smile.

Then this little gem looked at me, uttered a soulful, "AWWWWWWwwwwwww," and gave me a huge, heartfelt hug. Four days later, I'm still weepy over the beauty of it. What a sweetie! :loveya:

10. It was nice to get a hug out of the blue like that...
A little girl once hugged me spontaneously that way, and I chalked it up to being big and wearing a bright red coat right around Christmastime. I'm pretty sure she thought I was Santa, or some other Claus.

The other day, however, I was wearing brown and sage. Nothing flashy there... :D

How are your kitties?

16. The kitties are having a good day.
:)

Gray is having some litter box difficuties because of the numbness from the cancer squeezing the nerves in his lower back. So tomorrow he starts on an anti-inflamatory that should help. It's one more issue, and the issues are going to start stacking up, but for the time being he's still happy and social. He doesn't seem to be in pain. I'm very happy that he's doing as well as he is.

Silver enjoying the all the extra time I'm spending down on the floor because he's getting extra play time with me too.

Millie is upset that I'm always so exhausted that I fall asleep without her usual 45 minutes of play time before bed. But I'm trying to make it up to her.

So overall, life is okay. :)

18. Thankfully, they agree.
:)

I got a lot of kisses from Gray this evening. That makes me feel really good because it means he's both hydrated and happy. :woohoo:

9. I've often thought Down caretakers are special themselves.
They've been entrusted to care for those who will forever remain innocent. I know it's extremely hard to do successfully, and those who do it well are blessed.

14. Hear hear...
This young boy was being followed by another, who appeared to be his brother. He was so sweet with the boy as he gently led him onward.
