I found a back door way to get my digs in about the homework situation!
One of the things my daughter has had to catch up on is writing sentences for her high frequency words. One of her high frequency words was "hard".

I had her write, "Homework is hard!"

4. Good one, but at this point, in order to get caught up...
we are doing the bare minimum. If I could have had her do a two word sentence, I would have.
