Well I've been tweaking and getting vertigo all week.
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 10:05 AM by Deep13
The doc changed my medication from anti-anxiety to anti-depression. All week I have had sudden and brief sensations of motion when standing still and nervousness. The old stuff worked well except it made me lose some amount of interest in most things and I have been gaining weight slowly since starting 8 years ago.

I see her again tomorrow, so we will see what's what.

1. sounds like
You need another tweak. Check your BP as well..I've had that issue as well. Of course there are plenty of people who think I'm just plain dizzy...
Hope the doc figures out something better for you.

2. Actually the BP is just a little high because I'm so fat.
On the plus side, cholesterol is 165.

3. It might be messing with your heart rate.
Good luck at the appointment tomorrow and I hope they get it figured out for you.

4. What's the drug name?
About 6 years ago, I was very stressed out due to many factors and my BP was hitting 180/90
and my gynecologist gave me Effexor for possible PMS/depression and I had the same reaction
and flushed them down the toilet. He just liked giving out drugs, I think. I quit that job instead.

5. They're psych. drugs.
She's taking me off Paxil which made everything lovely and tranquil, but also uninteresting and sedintary, and putting me on Wellbutrin. Like I said, it is a switch from anti-anxiety to anti-depressant or, as my mother would say, from downers to speed. :eyes:

anxiety. Paxil is often used ( a lot of the time in combo with Xanax) as an anti anxiety. My grandma was on this cocktail for years...and it didnt' help a thing. In any case, feel better soon.

12. I know. That's why I'm thanking you for putting those facts straight.
Thanks for your concern. Did I mention that Asperger's makes me read and say things very literally without recognizing other possible meanings? Well, I'm afraid it does. Sorry.

14. My mood lately makes me do the same thing... No apology needed.
Sorry for snapping. Most days it would be best to ignore me. Again, I'm sorry.

AFAIK, is a mood elevator. I know people that took it and were fine.

Maybe it is your BP?

10. I had weird effects coming off of Lexapro
Vertigo and this weird "electricity" feeling that would shoot through my body. Apparently they're normal withdrawal effects, but I'd been careful to taper my dose over 6 weeks, and still had almost 3 weeks of effects! I hope they resolve soon, and I'd definitely talk to your doc about it.

11. Brain Zaps
I had the same thing coming off paxil, they were really bad about 3 days after stopping (after tapering) but didn't last more than a week for me. Paxil made me really nervous, fidgety, and gave me a period for as long as I was on it (standard for me on any mood altering drug). Worst month of my life for quite some time.

13. Three weeks? Geez! That's exactly what is happening.
I slowly reduced dosage too, but the last step from little to none is really making me punchy.

15. Yep.
That was the same for me, I was fine the whole tapering and first two days off, then the weird stuff started. The effects were, I would say mild but obnoxious, and tapered in frequency for three weeks. Hang in there...
