Oscar the mixed animal has an entry in the Encyclopaedia Britannica
At least I guess it's about him (her? Since the pregnancy?)

Anyway, I was using Google to find the original 'Oscar' thread, and put in the search term 'oscar part anteater "the trial"', and this came up as the 3rd hit:

All about Oscar

reproductive behaviour

any activity directed toward perpetuation of a species. The enormous range of animal reproductive modes is matched by the variety of reproductive behaviour.

Reproductive behaviour in animals includes all the events and actions that are directly involved in the process by which an organism generates at least one replacement of itself. In an evolutionary sense, the goal of an individual in reproduction is not to perpetuate the population or the species; rather, relative to the other members of its population, it is to maximize the representation of its own genetic characteristics in the next generation. The dominant form of reproductive behaviour for achieving this purpose is sexual rather than asexual, although it is easier mechanically for an organism simply to divide into two or more individuals. Even many of the organisms that do exactly this—and they are not all the so-called primitive forms—every so often intersperse their normal asexual pattern with sexual reproduction.

A very long article mentioning hundreds of animals, and reproduction, headed 'All about Oscar'. Well, if that isn't about A-Schwarzenegger's Oscar, then what could it be about? Perhaps 'Neal Griffith Smith' was Uncle Leonard's lab partner ...

11. Did Oscar make it back from his vacation in Mexico?
How are you and he doing these days?
I would still love to know what was going on in the attic?

15. They stopped him at the border with a bag of suspicious flora
which turned out to be Eruca vesicaria sativa.

We are fine these days except for a lawsuit I have brought
to stop him from publishing his memoirs entitled
"Me & Huckleberry."

He was building a companion in the attic.

12. I saved the Oscar story
and I often have people sit down at the computer and read it.
Now I get a kick out just watching people go "on the journey" with a smile on their faces.

(I told my rather serious doctor, who is also a writer, about your "shaking of a can of plums" and he let loose with a good guffaw! Thanks go to you and Oscar!)
