Am I the only one around here who is not a basketball fan?

I hate March. It is my least favorite month. And now when I come to the lounge, there are like 100,000 threads on the NCAA tournament. Do you have any idea how long it takes to hide all this crap? I guess I should go take some more medicine and go back to bed.

I don't mind the threads, though. I don't usually read them, as they aren't of interest to me, but I trust folks are having fun, talking trash, etc.

I'm sure the folks that aren't baseball fans feel the same way about the season being upon us next week.

I must have gone to at least 15 games back then. What a fricken high that was. I even met Larry Bird at some store at the Peabody mall when he was there signing autographs.

I was a basketball faNATic from about 11 to my mid-20s — played it 832 days per year and was absolutely rabid for the Lakers.

Then they started to change the rules. They outlawed defense and passing, trashed the traveling violation and, apparently, banned all shots except those from beyond 22 feet or with some dude 5' 8" driving the lane against three guys two feet taller. Oh, and all the players started wearing pajamas.

Women's basketball still has the feel and pace of the old game. I'll watch it most anytime — but it's rarely on teevee. :grr:

13. I'm not nearly as much of one as I used to be; I was quite rabid

at one time. Just doesn't interest me as much as it did when I was younger.
Used to watch it all: high school, college, pro, and basketball was THE sport that I followed. Always got into a pool during March Madness, watched games 'til I was damn near dizzy. Never gave much of a shit at all about football, baseball OK but not a big fan, don't normally watch...
I was a die-hard Celtics fan for years, and Iowa Hawkeyes in the Big Ten, and later the Gophers when I moved back to Minnesota, and then KG got us all going here in Minnesota with the T-Wolves, but then they tanked...
So no, not much anymore.
