Weird stuff your pets do. I'll go first and confess
that my girl kitteh LOVES my bra, but only after it's been worn on a day when I was sweaty. (I mean she acts like it's catnip or something!! Rolls all over it and tries to jam it up her nostrils.)

And he likes to lick my hair whenever it's wet.

28. Max likes to lick my hair
after I've had it cut/styled, I think he likes the flavor of the mousse or hair spray or maybe is interested at the new scent since I usually don't have any in my hair. If my hair is wet he will actually bite my head.

thinking that he only chomps my hair because there is still some scent there to get a hit off of.

34. Well Max does like catnip
so he definitely has a history of drug use! I also once had some tea bags that he was pawing and heavily sniffing before I snatched it from him. Sure hope my tea didn't have catnip in it.

5. One of my cats steals socks.
He opens the dresser drawer where the socks are kept, rummages around and strews the contents of the drawer on the floor until he finds the socks he wants (the fuzzy ones, never regular socks), and carries them downstairs and plays with them until they get all damp with drool.

8. Clairebelly likes to groom me (face and hair) but only at the
end of a long day; she's not interested if I'm squeaky clean. She also LOVES male armpits, again, though, must be stinky. If my husband comes in from yardwork or something, she's crazed to get to him before he showers. If she can't, she'll go bonkers over his t-shirt.

Bimbo likes to have her tail pulled, and to be pushed around in a shoebox (it's how we play "bumper cars").

Ivan, if he feels like letting you scratch his belly, does a sort of air-ballet with his front paws in happiness.

There are four others, but none are quite as odd...

12. My oldest kitty used to jump up and grab the chain for the hall
light and turn it on, and I would always yell at the KIDS, until I actually caught the kitty in the act one night...
And our BabyCat rolls over and sits up on command before she gets fed, and she knows how to use the dimmer switch on the lights and will turn them down if she wants to nap on the cushion on the dining room chairs.

And they love stinky shoes.

13. My Maine Coon screws the pooch
Not a real one-just the life sized Bernese Mountain dog plush that I got for a friend's child that ended up as a burglar deterrent in my entryway (you could see it from the front door-but not well enough to know it was fake). Oberon, a NEUTERED cat, serenades the stuffed toy before, er, well, the picture tells the story. It no longer looks realistic. It's a pathetic flattened thing that needs frequent patching. But I've let him keep it; the alternative is having Oberon mount my head when I'm trying to sleep!

Does this make him a "furry" or a "plushie"?

16. They try to bite the earplugs out of my ears in the middle of the night.
My husband snores like a freight train and I'm often up late reading after he's already gone to bed. So if I'm going to get any sleep I have to wear earplugs. Which the kitties have found on my nightstand and love to play with and eat. So I've taken to hiding them when I don't have them in. Well this week my husband was at a convention and I still had kitten's noses in my ears in the middle of the night despite not having earplugs. Very weird feeling having a cat trying to eat out your eardrum.

One of my cats chases her tail a lot, she can go around and around for a very long time. Also she's a boy, we didn't find this out until we'd had her for years (we inherited her) and one day caught her cleaning her stuff :o and lately she's started marking everything that's at cat-ass level, even though she/he's at least ten years old. We don't know what to do with her, we love her and she's so cute when she chases her tail. Maybe we'll tie a diaper on her, him.

25. All of my animals are hilarious in their own right
but they each have their own little weird quirks that stand out. :)

This is Katie.

In addition to being ridiculously adorable, her hobbies include: eating cheese (and anything else that happens to get dropped on the floor), licking people's bare legs, patrolling the house/neighborhood to make sure the cats are behaving themselves/there are no strange dogs invading "her" territory, and occasionally humping Phoenix.

This is Phoenix.

When he's not fending off unwanted advances from Katie, he enjoys: sitting in what appear, to the human eye, to be extremely awkward/uncomfortable positions; jumping up to high places and looking down haughtily on the rest of us mere mortals (and occasionally projectile vomiting from said high places), making threatening clicking noises at birds outside the window, and sometimes terrorizing Isabel.

This is Isabel.

Besides putting up with Phoenix's aggressive bathing and other silly behavior, Isabel often engages in some rather silly behavior of her own, such as: curling up too close to a halogen desk lamp and singeing her fur, being adorably (and often hilariously) clumsy, shedding copious quantities of gray hair on clean laundry, squalling bloody murder when anyone tries to pick her up, and squeaking indignantly when anyone stops petting her. (Seriously, my mom has this game that she plays with Isabel - she'll be petting the cat, and then she'll stop, and Isabel will look around and try to figure out what's different. Then my mom will say, in a really high-pitched voice, "Squeaky?" and Isabel will respond with her squeaky meow. :D It's really cute/funny.)

33. Grayson has a morning ritual
1. I get up go into the bathroom.
2. He chases his tail in the corner where the tub meets the wall.
3. I go to the kitchen.
4. He continues his tail chasing in front of the fridge. (He sometimes skips the bathroom, but never the fridge.)

He also pulls out the insoles to my rubber boots, which during rainy season, I leave out of the closet. Now these boots are 13" high and he pulls out not only the cushiony insert I've added, but the original thin insole. Once they're out, he has done his job and leaves them alone.

Millie, except for the occasional inexplicable rampage, seems to have no unusual traits.

41. Our cat Max is trying with all his might to learn how to flush the toilet -- to the point where we
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 11:14 PM by kath
noticed a day or two back that the only-3-months-old and kinda fancy new flush-handle thing (that we put on when we remodeled the bathroom) was feeling rough to the touch. I looked at it closely, and saw that it is covered with fairly deep bite-mark scratches! And this thing is made of metal, not plastic. Max is just *fascinated* with the toilet - everything about it. He always pries off the little cup-things that cover up the bolts that attach the toilet to the floor, and plays with them. But best of all is the *water!* and the *flushing!!*. We've all learned to put the toilet lid down after we're done, so that he doesn't play with the water. Since the remodel, with a few extra coats of paint on it, the bathroom door doesn't shut real tightly unless you give it an extra push. So virtually every time I'm on the throne, Max pushes the door open, then waits very eagerly so that he can watch me flush. Fascinating stuff! After the show is over (and sometimes after he's dipped a paw in) and the lid is down he'll jump up on the lid and try to lift the lid up with his paw, or, more recently, start messing with the handle - pondering it with great curiosity and sometimes biting it and trying to push it down.

He's a very inquisitive and bright cat. God help us if he learns how to do it (he's not quite full grown, so some extra weight might help do the trick) -- our water bills will skyrocket!

And they're all over just outside the entry way where we have her treats.
And there's a cat that tortures her. She pokes her head around the side of the divider that separates our balcony from the neighbor's. The cat will sit there just long enough to get her going, and then she'll disappear. We thought Pru was just insane until one day I caught the cat doing it. Every day, same time, Pru started barking and hitting her head against the glass door trying to get to the damned cat.
She must sit on my lap if I'm on the computer. And she will get into my face so that I can do nothing but see her.

... Actually, used fabric softener sheets and warm laundry. :P The first time I ever saw her playing with a fabric softener sheet, I thought I was gonna lose it....it was so cute and so funny! She's a scent hound anyway, but it's great fun for her to roll on them and toss them up in the air, then bark at them to play more! Our other dog Casey couldn't care less about them, but Vick's an addict.

Vicki also concocts elaborate schemes to steal treats from Casey. :P One time, Vicki ran outside and started barking, then Casey went out to see what was going on. Vicki bounded back in the door and snagged the dog biscuit Casey dropped. She knew it was going to be there when Casey was distracted.
