3. State bird has state name.
South Carolina's state bird is the appropriately named Carolina Wren. Those North Carolina folks blew it by choosing the Cardinal.

Any other state birds with the state name? There aren't a lot of possibilities.

7. North Carolina is the lamest copycat. It's state flower is also a copycat!
North Carolina state flower = American Dogwood (just like Virginia)
North Carolina state bird = Cardinal (just like six other states)

North Carolina = only state with copycat bird and copycat flower.
