Not a silly post but a question about heart attack recovery
I was just wondering about something and after spending an hour trying to find the answer on Google I can't find anything, so I thought I'd try asking here. Do you know if someone who had a heart attack a year ago is considered to have a compromised immune system? This refers to someone I know who said they can't be exposed to my child's illness (not contagious according to the doctor, though this person found a website which says the illness is contagious) because they had a heart attack last year, which has created a bit of a desperate situation for me. This person's heart attack recovery was uncomplicated and they no longer have any restrictions or lifestyle limitations, and they work in a position where they are regularly in contact with the public. I was kind of thinking that if their immune system was so compromised and vulnerable, they wouldn't be able to work with the public either. (In other words, I think they're uninformed at best and full of shit at the worst, but I can't find any proof one way or the other!)

1. either they don't like kids, or they are over-sensitive to the risks..
kids carry around alot of germs, true; but anyone who deals regularly with the public is not at any increased risk by being around kids.

The only people who may need to watch out for infection are those with compromised heart valves, not someone who's had a regular CABG. (Coronary artery bypass graft) or straight M.I.(heart attack).. People who have had rheumatic fever as a child can have rough edges on their heart valves which are more likely to get infected if (for instance), they go in for dental work. Germs from the mouth can enter the blood stream and infect the heart valves, resulting in endocarditis.
