Actually I did 3 foreign films this weekend. ALong with Cinema Paradiso I did Il Postino and Farewell my Concubine.

I bawled like you would not believe during Cinema Paradiso. There is something magical about that move that just moves me. Anyone else a big fan of this movie.

1. One of my top five favorite movies EVER!!! I cry every time I see it. I cry when I
hear the soundtrack. I'm just about to cry even thinking about it. :loveya:

4. I didn't like the extended version *spoilers*
I kinda liked the fact that he never knew what happened to Elena and then we found out that Alfredo had his hands in making that happen.

My DVD has both versions but I prefer the original, shorter version. I think the right amount of cuts were made to make the movie magical and Oscar worthy!

5. I completely agree
in this case there was almost too much resolution, however, I'd encourage any fan of the film to see both versions.

7. Like Magic said - watch it at least once in your lifetime

It's not horrible, it was just disappointing. It's kinda like the day you realized that Santa Claus isn't real anymore but you realize that you'll still get gifts anyways

8. I've only seen the extended version.
But I plan to give the original a go one day.

Another good, but long one - The Best of Youth. Pretty much a history of Italy from the late 60's to the present, following two brothers. It's six hours. I watched half one night, then othe other the next. I couldn't wait to get back into it.
