Well, first of all I presume that the GPS trackers are fairly tiny right now, and that they will continue to get even smaller.
So I was thinking about my cats, and how I lost two kits in one year (5 yrs ago), one who escaped from the car when we were coming cross country, and one who got out of the house when the nincompoop plumbers left all the doors open.
So I thought about the little scan devices that vets use to check pets who come into their clinics, or those pets who end up at the shelter, and thought, "well, why don't they use GPS tracking devices if they can be inserted in the same way as the scan devices?"
If one of my animals had had a GPS tracker, I would have been so happy to know one way or another what happened to them, and the knowledge would bring closure, either way. I think most people who have the scan devices implanted would spring for a few extra dollars if it mean surety of some kind.
Hey--it's a thought.
