So I got one of those As-Seen-On-TV can openers.

Got it for less than half price at the Dollar Store.
Got home and put the 2 AAs in and pressed the button and...nothing.
Made sure I had the batteries in right and tried again.
Nothing.
Tried 2 other batteries.
Nothing.
Damn.
I'll take it back next time I'm uptown.

It sat on the desk for a few days and just now I thought "Could it possibly have to be ON a can to work? Does that complete the circuit? What the hell, worth a try I guess."

So I put in the batteries and got a can of beans from the pantry and put the opener on it and pressed the button and...RRRRRRRRRR.
How about that?
:dunce:

1. My dear trof!
Well, yes indeed...

How about that?

Good for you, thinking of that...

I'm not sure I would have!

Did you eat the beans?

:silly:

6. Miz t. now has plans for the beans.
"I think I'll make enchiladas tomorrow night. I'll put the beans in the Cuisinart and make refritos."

5. My wife got one of these

She was too impatient, and didn't let it complete it's cycle - she was mad because it didn't release the cut off lid. Just wait a couple more seconds, dear. :D

I like it. It doesn't leave a jagged metal bloodseeking disk.
