Scheduler at therapist is lying and stonewalling us!
Here's the situation...my oldest son needs some speech and occupational therapy. The place he's going to go has evaluated him for both areas. We were told he would start speech therapy soon, and that the OT would start in a few months once an opening was available.

That was 3 months ago. The person in charge of scheduling never replied to my wife's email updating her on our son's schedule. So I call last week... I was told an email reply was immediately sent back to my wife, and that a speech therapist had quit and they need to hire someone new before there were openings. I was also told that openings were frozen since no one had left since early November.

Now, we checked our spam filter and such, and there was no email sent back to us. I called and spoke with someone else in the office today and was told that, no, both speech therapists were quite employed and that no one had left or was planning to.

Now what do we do? We know the scheduler is lying to us and we suspect she may be passing over our son. Who knows why she's doing this, it's not like we've been bugging her over the past several months (maybe 3 emails total?)

Any suggestions?

1. Where is this happening?
If it's in an office, I'd go to the office manager. If it's in a clinic, I'd find out who the administrator is and report it to them.

2. It's a standalone therapy place
Yeah, I guess the next thing to do is to escalate the problem.

3. Does your insurance co. have a patient advocate or something like that?
They can call and threaten to send their business everywhere if their patients are being dicked around.
