2. It's Kristy with a K
you know, like KKK.

That song sucked. I have lost all respect for Simon that he would say that was anything other than vomit inducing.

3. You betcha!
Jingoistic and puke-producing. :puke: But it was a good performance from Kristy Lee, who's been mediocre up until now.

For me, tonight's best were Syesha, Michael, and David Cook.

To the rest: Song choice, baby. Song choice.

5. Actually I think he complimented her on her freeper vote inducing song choice
Granted he did say that it was her best performance, but for her, that's really not saying much.

4. I only acknowledge one Cook on Idol
And he kicked ass.

Voting for Carly though, I fear she's in danger. People who like God Bless the USA don't normally like tattoos. At least on women.

6. Was he great or what???
I called The Ex after he sang (we watch AI together via phone), and said," If he was as sexy as my Beardy Growly Bear Bo,I would "turn" straight, marry him, and have little David Cook babies!"

18. I find David Cook smarmy to the max, but he was the only reason to watch last night
And his performance is the closest any contestant's ever going to get to channeling Nick Cave on AI.

13. Hate the Song....just more Religious bullshit. I was disappointed that Simon...
...liked it.
..And...Cook?...Phoney....Phony...Phoney.
Typical "Bar down the street" singer
..But I must admit...ever since he said "I just want to be a rock star, no matter what it takes"...I knew he was just another 2 bit whore which would appeal to 2 bit whores...

17. Simon was correct - the song choice was brilliant
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 08:50 AM by Mike Daniels
Regardless of how one feels about the song it was a crafty song choice for the up-till-now clueless KLC.

1. It put her in the "country" bag that Simon has been trying to get her to fit into up since the real competition started.

2. It creates an almost Pavlovian reaction in what is KLC's major base outside of horny young boys and old men...country music listeners and flag-waving yahoos who live in fly-over country.

3. It brings back memories of her only truly memorable (in a good way)performance of the similarily themed "God Bless America"

I find the song to be jingoistic clap-trap but Kristy used it masterfully and it will keep her out of the bottom three for the first time in weeks. In fact, if country week is next week she'll easily make it to the top 8 which is pretty good given how many times she's escaped elimination by the skin of her teeth.

20. Exactly what I was thinking.
It was an obvious ploy to get votes from a certain set of American.

Gag.

14. Oh god, how awful was that?
I just watched it - what a cynical ploy to get votes.

When she said she was born in '84, I said she should come out all slutty and do "Like a Virgin". Instead, she did a country fair version of a hick anthem. Ewww....

David Cook kicked ass though.

23. Kristy Lee Cook....
the Jenna Bush clone who should've been out weeks ago, had to sing a song from the year she was born: 1984.

She did Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" in a cynical attempt to get the freeper vote. Personally, I prefer my AI cynicism to consist of showing some side-tit and crawling on the stage, but I'm old-fashioned that way.

24. I knew Kristy would have to pimp out to save her ass from elimination

Never once did it occur to me that her pimp out would come via falling ass-backwards via date of birth into a song choice that pandered to one of her two biggest voter bases.

29. Ever notice that the USA#1! types are as often as not from the same parts
of the country that wanted to go off and form their own country a while back?

What changed their minds?
