80's music fans...I saw the English Beat last night!
It was Dave Wakeling's band...but no Ranking Roger. Still, they sounded great and Dave Wakeling is hilarious!! Man, that guy is funny!

I couldn't believe how many OLD PEOPLE were at the show...(including me.)

Dave Wakeling mentioned that he had just turned "30 and 22"...but he can still ska!

3. Wow!
I have great memories of seeing the Beat at the Greek Theater in Berkeley in, maybe, '83 or so.

I confess, they were such a breath of fresh air when they came out. :)

4. I was a college radio dj in '83 and I remember hearing "I Confess"
when it first came out. We played the shit out of the English Beat!!

They were great last night -- Dave Wakeling is quite a showman and is so funny! The band he has with him is really tight, too.
