DeKalb General (which is now DeKalb Medical Center) wasn't around when Sis and I were born.

50 cent has his house on the market, though, I think.

Jackie Kennedy went to Miss Porter's school, as did a lot of other famous women, including some Bush ladies, and Gloria Vanderbilt.

198. Not only was I born there, when I grew up I worked right near there...
At the Stop & Shop down the street.

50 Cent does have his house for sale but it's not selling - the price keeps going down and the news article where he switched his support described him as still living there.

I grew up in Avon and Simsbury, although I did live in Unionville briefly before moving out to Arizona.

We're actually in Avon on the west end of town. Avon might be the reddest town in the Hartford area.

211. Nice. My neighborhood was on the west side of Avon as well.
I went to Roaring Brook Elementary School. I lived on High Ridge Road near Anvil Drive and Chevas and Lovely Street.

Simsbury's pretty red, too. But I was glad to see Kerry won it (just barely) in 2004.

they've had Mary Glassman, a Democrat, as their first selectwoman for a majority of the past decade or so.

there is a rather large new development off of Huckleberry Hill Rd in Avon, which is where we are now. In Avon, it was a huge accomplishment when Dems won a 2nd seat on the town council (out of 5) for the first time since the 1960s. It's either been 1 or none from the 60s until 2007.

It was during the matinee on Friday,
And they used a makeup towel for my didee.
When I first saw the light,
It was pink and amber,
Coming from the footlights on the stage.
When my dad carried me out there to say hello,
They told me that I stopped the show.

Well no, actually, Regina, Saskatchewan.

Alas I was only 3 months old when the family moved to

One of these days, I've got to see Rockford, again.

The flattest town in all of New England. (Honest. That's the town's claim to fame.) It's also the exact geographical center of the state of Connecticut. Until approximately 175 years ago, the name of the town was "The Great Plain".

176. In the city where
Haight and Ashbury streets intersect.

Where the best Chinese restaurants don't print menus in English.

Where little cable cars climb half-way to the stars...

Where a whole city block is devoted to some Italian Chocolatiers.

Where "Golden Gate" doesn't describe a colour.

Where they plant flowers by the graves of skateboarders who've tried to make it down this hill.

Where Cioppino originated, and isn't just a way to use up old fish.

181. I was born not too far from where John Kerry was born - in Aurora, Colorado
Edited on Sun Mar-30-08 09:39 PM by HawkeyeX
I was born in the old Presbyterian Hospital in what is now the (I believe) Medical Center of Aurora.

John was born in Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center (on what is now the University of Colorado Hospital - long after Fitz closed the base) not less than 2 miles from where I was born.

Here - some pics

John Kerry was born here:

Another view of the old Fitzsimmons - circa 1973

I was born here:
(This is the North campus, not the main campus)

Some Denver skylines for your enjoyment:

http://www.lubbockonline.com/gallery/lubbock_dust_storm/17.shtml

The weird thing is that I get all nostalgic for my salad days in Lubbock when a good ole West Texas duststorm actually makes it all the way over to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ah, springtime in Lubbock when the sky is the same color as the dirt beneath your feet!
