Why I am up early: a two point kitty attack

My cats really did a fine job waking me up for food this morning. One sat at my head and batted at my nose. When that didn't work the other one who was situated lower clawed me in the butt..several times.
My fuzzy brats are evul geniuses!!:eyes:

1. One of mine will jump on me

It's like stomping with all 4 feet at once. She springs on the bed, and as she flies over the other side, it's one stomp on me and one on my wife. I guess she uses this hit and run tactic so we can't swat at her.

2. This is exactly why my cats don't get "breakfast" per se

they have a bowl of food out at all times. They've gotten used to being served in the AM.

8. I used to leave a bowl of kibble out, too, but since Pretzel got sick we had to

switch to specific feeding times in order to get him hungry enough to take his meds. This now means that Pickles, our little compulsive overeater (she takes after me that way), stands on me @ about 7am and mrows and prows at me until I get her her food, darn it!!

3. That's just not polite

Mine plopped down on top of my head and snoozed until I got up, but she hasn't learned the rest of the routine - yet.

5. Sometimes my cats let me sleep in. I really appreciate it when they do. Today

was one of those days. I got to sleep till 11:00 AM. Then they did the tag team wake up.

6. One of mine usually starts squawking incredibly loudly.

That cat has the most amazing vocal range I've ever heard. :wow:

I've got one who gives me a scalp massage several nights a week. I think she's pretending my hair is her mama's soft kitty belly. :loveya:

10. Grendel (the Siamese that most recently adopted me) has a different approach.

He sings. He seems to know the perfect spot in the bedroom to get the best acoustics and begins yowling until your ears bleed.

11. my girls never do that

they are content to sleep with me until i get up :shrug:

the cats at daddy's, otoh, will start yowling if they don't get their breakfast by about 9 a.m. they always have food out, but the girls get wet food mixed in with a bit of dry food and the boy gets just wet food...by the way they cry you'd think we starve the poor things :eyes:

:eyes: :P When I'm home and leave my bedroom door open, my two cats will sometimes come in at like 4:30 in the morning, before my mom gets up to let the dog out at 5. It's funny, because they have completely different ways of going about waking me up. The male will jump up on the bed, purring like a freaking chainsaw (seriously - this cat has the loudest purr I have ever heard) and start walking on my chest, which is EXTREMELY painful. You'd think that eleven pounds of cat wouldn't do that much damage, but when it's concentrated in less than a square inch of paw on some rather sensitive areas...ow ow ow ow OW! :grr: The female usually gets up in my face and nuzzles me, and starts walking around my head, occasionally venturing over to my nightstand (which is usually pretty effective in waking me up, because as much as I love her, she's a total klutz, and I have no desire to replace my bedside lamp or alarm clock). :eyes: Cats. :D :hi:
