The latest "Finnfan starts a thread about an obscure British song that he likes
which gets no responses."

But seroiusly, this one is a lot of fun (and the video is fun, too. Very 80's-ish.

4. Unfortunately, in the US we seem to have musical Xenophobia.
A British artist can't make it here unless they sound VERY "American" (i.e. Leona Lewis, or that one Snow Patrol song). The Arctic Monkeys have never had a hit here. Or Elbow. Or even Will Young. :-(

6. I LOVED the Housemartins.
They did an incredible a cappella version of "Caravan of Love".

7. I miss all those Brit bands

there doesn't seem to be quite as much politics and/or whimsy coming out of there as there did back then.

smart and poppy.

9. Check out the band "Elbow".
I think that the politics/whimsy is still there, but it's not making it to American radio.

10. It sounds like "She Blinded Me With Science"
without the kicky "SCIENCE!!!" part. :D

Cool song, though!
