8. Is this still real oldies radio
or are they still trying to incorporate classic rock from the 70's? I usually feel like the oldies period ends in 1969.

9. They have a mix of the 60's and 70's
it seems more late 60's music to me at least at this time of day, anyway.

10. I'm listening to it now
They just snuck in some 5th dimension, which I would put outside of "oldies". But it's not like I actually lived through the era, so what the hell do I know.

17. Have you ever tried
Pandora?
You can tailor the music played to what you want to hear, at least by styles. But you can also stop a track you don't like and it will move on the next one they think you'll like :)

Their site explains more about how it works.

you should see the arms on C.J. Chernier (or maybe you have.) He was in my burg a couple of years ago for a music fest and he must be working out on that accordion.

19. Currently obsessing on
I have been listening to every version of Leonard Cohen's
Hallelujah (yes, I originally heard it on American Idol and I
can't get it out of my head!). When I'm not obsessing on
that, I've been obsessing on Flaming Lips "yoshimi"
and Lou Reed's "New York". I am not "with
it" musically/ I like what I like when I'm damn well
ready to like it!

25. strange! I didn't even know that had been on American Idol
and all of a sudden I heard it everywhere... not Cohen's version, but Rufus Wainwright and k.d. lang and of course Jeff Buckley.

I'm in the "low key" camp... oh, and I saw that Bill and Gloria Gaither (Dobson buddies, etc.) had done a version, which is pretty freaking hysterical because they totally DO NOT UNDERSTAND the lyrics to that song. um, yeah, fornicatin' for the lord! yeeehaw!

I also love Yoshimi (battles the pink robots) - have you seen the Flaming Lips put to video from Baraka on google? I bet you'd like it.

and, hey, good music is good music. now go find yourself some Iggy Pop! :)

I wasn't even born in 1978 (not by a long shot), but I saw him this fall on his most recent tour. It was awesome, but I do wish I coulda been there in the early days when there was even more energy.
