I feel ganged up on today.
x(

Creepy slob ex-housemate moved out yesterday and left a hell of a lot of cleaning and moving for me to do behind him.

Silver needs a lot of attention after his surgery and he won't let me give him any pain pills.

My incision on my throat re-opened so I'm bleeding through my bandages.

I can't afford to be home from work today, but I stayed home from work because I can't leave here today.

I have too many things to take care of today, and I'm totally exhausted from lack of sleep! I just want to curl up and have everything okay when I wake up. :(

That is all. I hope you are all having a much better day than I am.
:hangover:

I'll bet Silver will take on that duty. Cats seem to be uncommonly good at it!

Good vibes headed your way, Thom

2. ThomCat, look at the bright side! It can only get better.
Have you tried the pill technique of coating it with butter, placing it in silvers mouth & holding his mouth shut while blowing gently on his nose? Usually they can't help but swallow.

You are in a much better situation without a creepy/slob housemate. After the mess is cleaned up you will have that chapter behind you. Take a nap & things will look better.

I have had plenty of days like that, you will get through it!

5. Butter was the first thing I tried.
I haven't got the PillPockets yet because I wasn't needing them for Gray. Silly me. I didn't anticipate that Silver would be more trouble than Gray. I have no idea what I was thinking.

Unfortunately, he's very good at twisting his head around and spitting out the pills. And my hands are not nearly dexterous enough to match him.

I'll keep trying. One way or another he's getting his pain pills. x(

8. Hi MM!

I have exhaustion today. I think I'd be better able to deal with all of this if I had been getting any real sleep the past few nights. :(

I didn't take my meds last night because they would knock me out, and I needed to be able to get up to take care of Silver. So part of this is my own damned fault. Going a day without my meds aggravates my pain, and that just combines with the lack of sleep to make me cranky.

Tomorrow better be better or I start biting people's heads off. :P

23. Food is becoming important
Yesterday I had a bagel and orange juice for breakfast. A glass of soymilk for lunch. And a vegan chocolate chip cookie for dinner.

I haven't eaten anything yet today.

I know I should eat. I just haven't.

I played with silver a lot and made him purr. He has been hiding in the cat carrier. He came out to get some more love and I got him to eat some gravy with crushed up painkillers in it.
:woohoo:
That's my major success of the day. He'll feel better now, get some real rest, and eat some more.

My neck hurts like hell. But I'm going to leave the bloody bandage on for a while. If I change it, it will just open again and strt bleeding some more. I can't keep changing bandages. My hands hurt like hell from skipping my evening meds last night.

Gray is doing the best of all of us. He just wants to be held and cuddled. I made myself sit down with him for 15 minutes. :)

Now I have to get some cleaning dow. That's going to be a real joy the way my hands feel today. :(

28. ugh, sounds like it's good you;'re home, though, if your
incision is bleeding -- did your prescriptions for antibiotics get filled? Not good to go to work when you're bleeding through bandages.... one day at home will probably do you a world of good.

For pills, get a pill syringe - I swear by it. One cat suddenly developed 8 legs and 1,000 claws as soon as I tried to give her a pill, but this syringe (it's not a 'true' syringe - it's for oral med delivery) has made it soooo easy. Check out bertha's latest thread about it:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=7617831

The pill syringes are cheap (under $5) and worth every single penny, IMO.

Does Natalia still come to help you?

Not good, I know, but I am in no shape to trudge all the way into the city. It's 2 hours each way to get to my office. That's 4 hours just to pick up my antibiotics.

It will have to wait until tomorrow.

I would come and help you. I clean houses and offices for a living. I have taken care of animals all my life. Crush those pills up and put them in a small amount of kitty food. Then go take care of those bandages and wash up so you feel a little more alive. Please eat something too. You need to keep yourself nourished to speed healing. Did you get those antibiotics yet? Sorry to scold you!! I am a mother of two (three if you count my hubby) and it is just what I do! I do hope tomorrow will be a better day for you.

I don't have the antibiotics. The pharmacist is next door to my office and I didn't make it to work today. So I'll have to get them tomorrow. :(

The lump has swollen up again, so my doctor is going to have to clean it out and re-pack it tomorrow. That's going to be fun. x(

I did get Silver to eat, and his painkiller was in it. Then I got myself something to eat.

I haven't got nearly enough cleaning done. But I think I'm due for some painkillers and a nap.

I'll be back in an hour or two.

I can guarantee that it will still be there!!! You will really be in a pickle, so to speak, if you have any infection spread in your body. My Mom always said that "in a pickle" thing.
