1. I'm holding out for the male birth control pill
but I might consider it otherwise.

2. sure
my GF fucking hates the pill because of the hormonal effects on her and refuses to use it. We stick with condoms now but dangerous is so much better...except for the danger of pregnancy (but not STDs because we're loyal). So I would seriously consider it. If I ever want kids I am interested in adopting some instead of increasing the world population so I would have to think about how sure I am of that before getting snipped.

3. Both my son-in-laws recently had vasectomys
I am proud of them both for taking responsibility. They both felt that it was easier and there were less dangers of complications if they did it than if my daughters underwent more invasive surgeries. One couple has two kids and they don't want more and the other two don't want kids unless they decide to adopt.

It's a personal choice - that was theirs.

4. Yes - but I'm nervous
I like the result, but I get the heebie jeebies every time I think about the procedure

Still, using condoms when you're married is a pain, and the pill is not so fun I am told

7. I got one in 1972. I never regretted it for a second.
It was just a day or so of inconvenience, then never looked back. Best thing I ever did along those lines.

10. I was told one had to decide for one's self. In other words,
don't let anybody talk you into it or out of it. You need to decide for yourself. It's something about doubt afterwards. I think some guys' wives talked them into it and they changed their minds later and blamed her for doing it. I had none of that.

27. "Interesting" story...
my ex mil, a very active woman in unions and the democratic party, told her son (my ex), after he had decided he would, that I was in charge of the birth process; therefore, I should be in charge of the birth control! Go figure. The good news is, the day I had the procedure, I could "neeeeener" him, saying I had the great drugs and he didn't.

8. You offering?
I had been thinking about it, but then I needed a real operation (not willie-related) and now I'm thinking maybe not. Not a huge fan of condoms, but they're better than my wife taking those pills or me taking one of those knives. <shudder>

9. I got one in 80..... I used to be able to make women
pregnant at stop lights. 3 kids. That is enough. Now the babymaker is a play toy.

11. I had one
Not painful, and it didn't diminish my sex life in any way.

There's no reason not to do it. Read up on all the health risks that female birth control causes for your partner. If one of you needs to be fixed, it shouldn't be her.

13. Had a nice one in 1986, completely paid for by insurance.
After the cut-and-singe, waddled across the street for a lunch of enchiladas and cervezas.

Already did (1988).

As I was driving home, the anesthetic wore off and I rear-ended some guy in traffic.

Ironic, eh?

Find an experienced MD and you have nothing to worry about. The discomfort, not pain, goes away in a day.
