The first thing I want to do when I get into a hotel room....
is unpack and put everything neatly away.

So why am I looking at this suitcase on my living room floor with such disdain? The thought of unpacking from this trip (although everything is clean) is just overwhelming. It can sit there for a week for all I care.

So, did anyone miss me?

1. I like to flop down on the bed, relax, and smell that great "hotel sheets" smell.
There's a wonderful kind of lassitude that comes over a person in a hotel room; a kind of unhurried, cool, relaxed feeling that is tough for anything else to beat.

2. Ha! I'll agree with you when I check into my hotel on April 11.
Last night was with an 11, 7 and 4 year old boy after having been in a car with them for 4 hours. Not so relaxing. :)

7. Oh, well, see, I've never had to deal with that before.
When I stay in a hotel it's usually by myself or with my wife.

8. Can I just tell you how much I am looking forward to following your recipe on April 11?
No kids. No hubby. Just me and those fresh sheets. Bliss!

12. Hotel bars are nice, too.
If you get a little tanked, no driving necessary; just take the elevator back to your room. :-)

4. By the time I get into the room
the first thing on my list is to pee. After that I try to figure out what's second on the list.

5. Are we related?
I do the same thing. I unpack and put everything away the moment I walk into a hotel room, but when I get home, I plunk the suitcase down, and there it sits. Seems more work at home than in a hotel. I've never figured that out. :)

9. Weird, isn't it?
My husband is exactly the opposite. He likes to scope out the room, relax for a bit, maybe go out for a bite to eat and then come back and unpack when we're at a hotel. Drives me nuts because he's invariably in my way! But when he returns home from a trip he can't relax until the suitcases are unpacked and his dirty clothes are in the washer (or rather in a pile beside the laundry room door). Mind you, the empty suitcases are left in the middle of the room in my way, but they are empty.

17. I usually don't unpack in a hotel.
I've got everything packed according to days that I'll need it, so I just leave the clothes in the suitcase. Weird, huh?
