There's a very nervous beagle under my bed.
I written here before about Lucy-the-next-door-dog.
It's become almost joint ownership, except we rarely have to feed her and never have to pay vet or boarding bills.
Pretty ideal, actually.

Her 'mom' calls her our grand-dog.
And she guards our house just as fiercely as her own. No one can ever sneak into our driveway.

Anyway, her folks are gone and there are thunderstorms about, which she dreads. So she showed up at the back door and now she's under my bed.

Just don't pee on the carpet, Lucy.
She did that a while back and was persona non grata for a couple of weeks.
;-)

3. My golden retriever guards our neighbors house
I mean seriously..he gets real upset if she has company, UPS, meter reader, anybody comes into her yard and he goes off like a doberman.
Her house is half a block away, but he always knows.
Neighbor loves it, tells folks with some pride of her "adopted" watch dog and says she feels much safer when she goes on trips because she knows he will let us know if anyone comes near her house.
He goes over to her porch and "demands" that she come out and give him a biscuit.
Which, unfortunately she does...nothing I can say changes that.
