4. I had this really weird experience with earwax before I got my tonsils out.
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 02:07 PM by LoZoccolo
I went to an ear, nose, and throat doctor in preparation to get my tonsils and adenoids removed and little drainage tubes put in my ears and he went in there with the little scoop to clean my ears. These big black rocks of earwax came out of both ears! I didn't even know that earwax looked like that. Ever since then I've wondered what might be in there without me knowing, though checkups have never since revealed any buildup worth removing. From what I've read, your ear canal has to be almost completely blocked for you to notice any detriment to your hearing.

6. Bleeech!! I *knew* I shoulda left that one off! :)
they may not work for colds, etc. but ear candles do remove wax from your ears. btw, some ppl have soft wax and some have hard wax. sounds like you had hard wax.

9. yikes!
I've never been to someone else for this. Just home cooking...for more than a decade... but generally not even every year, just when my ears really hurt from flu or something.

I've also never held a candle perfectly perpendicular to my ear, tho. And I don't burn a candle more than halfway down. One of my sons loves this. I guess I'll have to tell him the bad news.

(oh, and hey youse out there - where are the dozens of other votes that should be on this thread based upon viewers? What -- you don't like recombination?)
