I have a e-mail question--regarding Ccc vs. Bcc.

If I put my name in "To" and 20 peoples' names in "Bcc", what will they see in their inbox?

Will they see my name as a co-recipient? All I want them to see is their own name.

(Oh, and it's not spam. I'm auditioning people for a show.)

1. BCC will ensure they only see their own.

That's the way to go.

2. In Outlook Express

When I send one to myself (TO: Me) and BCC others, when I get my copy, it only shows the recipient as "ME".

So wouldn't they see your name & their name? I would think you would need to leave the TO: blank, then put their names in the BCC address.

ETA: I just sent myself a test email leaving the TO: blank and my email addy in the BCC. When I received it, the TO: said "undisclosed recipient".

3. I do that all the time in Outlook Express.

I put my name in the TO box and everyone else's in the BCC box, recognizing that even if people wish to volunteer, they might not want to be inundated with the latest email forward. And, at least in my Outlook, if you reply to one email with lots of names, they all go in your address book.
