Great News!!!!
Follow-up to previous postings about job interviews.

Got a call yesterday from the Head of the NICU @ Arkansas Children's Hospital...and....

I GOT THE JOB!!!!! I'll be working Sat & Sun from 7a to 7p.

I am sooooo excited!!!! I've been on cloud nine since the call. This is a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to work @ this hospital and often referred to it as my dream job prior to and during school. I am so stoked that it's ACTUALLY happening!

Commence with the Happy Dances!!!!

2. Thanks so much!!!
My dad's first words were, "Dreams do come true don't they?"

That's exactly how I feel....they really do come true, just sometimes not in the time frame we like/want.

It's been a long road to this point....I quit school in 1998 when I got married (it was a good choice for me) and I'll be graduating in approx. 5 weeks.

That just makes all of this that much more special.

7. My dear elfrangel!
Biggo congrats, sweetie!

Wow, right into the deep end, huh?

When I was a working RN, they didn't let the new grads work the units! Will you be mentoring with someone?

Have a great time!

8. Thanks Peggy.
Yeah, I'm leaping right in, but I am really excited about it. My plan is to continue on in school and get my BSN, then my MSN and get NICU certification. So, really I'm starting where I ultimately want to end up. lol.

The hospital has a 2-4 week orientation program, then each department has a set orientation/mentor time. The NICU has a 8 week rotation. They train very well, part of the reason that I want to work for them. Plus, they are always challenging the standard forms of care, creating new ones. I love that!!!

Details are still being worked out, but all new grads/new hires are placed with a mentor in the beginning. I'll know more in a couple of days.
