5. That's as good as what the redneck piper said in the office today...
I was mentioning the problems Windows has versus the other operating systems out there and he asked "What operating systems are there other than Windows?" Since he couldn't see my dropped jaw, I decided to probe a little more and asked him to think about it. His response was "I don't know anyone that still uses DOS!"

If I had thought of it at the time, I would have asked "Are you willfully ignorant or were you just born that way?" oy veh!

9. in light of peak oil, I am saving the 1950s manual typewriter...
which, of course, has a carriage...and a ribbon!

(The typewriter is older than I am, but still works for the damned multiple carbonless forms.)

not older...better...wiser...

10. They have those at Aldi
Before you go shopping, you get a cart. The carts are all locked one to another, and to unlock them you have to put a quarter in a slot. Once the quarter is in there, you can pull the cart away and do your shopping. To get your quarter back, you have to return and re-lock the cart up, then the quarter pops back out.

That's what you mean, right?

11. Who said that?

I take it a kid who hasn't ever seen a real old timey typewriter. They don't know what they are missing. The smell of Whiteout is something I'll never forget as long as I live, except I liked the smell and sniffed it little too much growing up, so I may actually forget, unfortunately. Still, thanks for the nice memory...while I still have it. :P :hi:
