What is everyone up to today?
I have about 200 pages to read and a paper to write for class, which I'm not very excited about. I can't wait until this semester is over and I can have my Saturdays free again... for a few weeks at least until my summer term starts. x(

Hope everyone else has better plans for their Saturday! :hi:

1. well . . .
it's 11:45AM here and i just got out of the shower and am dressing for the day.
i'm probably behind a bit, i guess.

having lunch with the daughter - who knows after that?
trying to keep myself in a cheery mood - that's the most difficult part.

good luck with your paper. hopefully you'll be able to enjoy a bit of your weekend?

2. Git 'er done
You will thank yourself for all of those working Saturdays when you graduate and hit the big time.

Me? I just drove a truck 500 miles and made 4 stops. I'm just kicking back at the house, having some beer, and chatting with you guys. No other plans. "Yeah they call me the working man/ I guess that's what I am."

4. Listening to the new Breeders record ...
http://www.breedersdigest.net/

Follow the link for the release party, the music plays along with the video. The music sounds great, and it's good to see Kim & Kelley off the drugs and healthy. Kim even jokes about it during the video (actually feeling a sugar buzz off some chocolate cake).

I love hearing (good) new music.

:hi: I'm getting back into it soon. Good luck on plowing through the studies! I hope you get some time to relax after the drudgery.

7. "Roseanne" marathon and re-training Piri
Ever since she got Piers, like the attosecond after he arrived, she gets territorial and bitey. (those 3 weeks when she was literally codependent for me did nothing, it seems. :silly: )

8. Avoiding looking for a new job.
I was told last week that I'm not in the running to become a manager of a new store, nor am I being considered for an expected opening as a training coordinator. So I'm leaving the coffee mermaid. I'm going back to the non-profit sector.

Anybody looking for a development assistant with more training than experience (I do have experience, one year's worth), great with peeps, Raiser's Edge experience, fantastic researcher, background in literacy, desires to work in the arts. I'm not a grantwriter; I tried, it's not my skill set.

I can also make a mean cup of coffee and I come with a free espresso machine.

10. working
At least we are slow today. I am right there with you on the homework. I have two major papers due this month and I have yet to get any real work on them done. I graduate in May and the thought of doing school work makes me want to scream.
Good luck with the paper and take lots of breaks.

11. Cleaning out crap from the ravine behind the house; it's been used by
previous owners as a dump for 35 years and we've been hauling stuff outta there steadily for the five years we've been living here. Today is the warmest we've had in months, so I've been taking advantage of it!

12. I am at work now.
I'll be here until 11 p.m.

Still recovering from a crazy Friday night spent at my buddy's new place. He had a little get together and we went crazy. Good times!

I am a bit tired now though and don't really feel like being at work. Oh well.

16. I did futile fishing
I knew it was too cold for anything to bite, but I was out there anyway. It was a great exercise in learning how to rig up, use the new equipment, and remembering the routine. My wife and I forgot a few things like bottled water and sunglasses. But overall, it was just great to be out in the woods on a beautiful day.

20. Five hours of invoicing a boatload of piddly jobs.
It's one of those projects that there's no point in billing until it's done because problems and changes continue to creep up until the end. So, I spent all day creating the invoices, verifying their accuracy and then looking up and sending them to the appropriate clients.

And now, I'm going to work on a free design job that I do every year (but at least, I have it down to a science and it doesn't take too long.)

21. Saturday: cleaned trash out of the ravine behind the house and
spent some time by the fire down by the river in the woods, watching the ducks and looking at everything turning greener by the day!
Today: started out rainy, so did laundry. Worked on my mosaic bowling ball, which will go in the garden when it's done. Just came back in from another walk down in the woods, saw two kingfishers flying upriver, and spooked some more ducks. Tried out my new rotary cutter for quilting :-)
