SIMPLE RULES FOR APARTMENT LIVING.
DO NOT TOUCH DK'S LAUNDRY IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM UNLESS IT'S AN EMERGENCY!!!! ;)

Don't move my laundry from the washer to the top of the only dryer to start your washing load. It was only in there a few minutes because somebody's laundry in the dryer wasn't picked up yet. I caught the culprit, she seems nice but she's new. She has to learn the rules. :)

Yes, I'm a neurotic apartment dweller, sue me!

1. I'd have moved it, too.
:) And I'm not nice or new. Then again, I bought my own washer and dryer so I wouldn't have to deal with neurotic apartment dwellers.

5. That's why they invented butts.
So you could sit there and watch the washer until it stopped. :) If you leave private things alone in a public place, they aren't going to remain private.

2. You're lucky...
my last apartment had a sign reading: "Nota Bene: If your laundry is tying up a machine and cloggin up the laundry works, it goes on the floor!"

And it did usually. College-aged kid building for the most part.

I monitor my laundry times. :)

6. I've found that some people totally forget about their laundry.
Fortunately we have six washers and six dryers. BUT one day, a woman used ALL SIX WASHERS at once. That pissed me off.

7. Or if you have mentally challenged neighbor who
opens your washer and pours powdered soap all over your just washed clothes...

That happened last week. x(

And by mentally challenged, I meant literally, he is mentally disabled. So, I'm not really angry, just kinda annoyed. :)

9. Ahhh yes laundry room politics
I agree with the OP and the college kid who made that sign.

I have been known to throw people's unmanaged laundry on the ground before. But I say, I never touched their chonies with my bare hands - yuck. I put gloves on.

:P

12. I had a neighbor in my old building
who used to leave her clothes in the dryer all damn day. Once I had to do laundry QUICK with a plane to catch. So instead of taking her stuff out and dumping it in an undignified heap on top of the dryer as usual, I made an art project. With her shiny gold-lamé thong on top of it like a cherry on a sundae.

Was that you?
