Yesterday was the first really spring-like day this year; according to the calendar it's the 55th
time I've experienced Spring (except for that one time when I was in a place where they don't really have Spring like we do).

I went outside to feel the soft breeze, and turned my face to the warmth of the Sun, as an old dog will do; and I felt good that I've not forgotten to appreciate the small rewards that life will bestow on us if we only slow down enough, just now and again, to let it give us those gifts.

And life asks nothing in return for these favors it gives.

What a deal, eh?

1. Ah, spring....
We definitely enjoyed the weather yesterday as well, Redstone. What a tease mother nature is, eh? Still, it was beautiful, and I'm so grateful for some real sunshine lately!

4. And today, with the clouds & cold, Mrs R asked, "What happened?" Of course, I told her:
"New England happened."

3. Friday I went fly-fishing in a snowstorm - today I went x-country skiing
and there is still 3.5 feet of snow in the woods

but I heard robins singing this morning for the first time...

5. My dear Redstone...
We've been having spring weather for some weeks now...off and on...

This is my favorite time of year!

I even wrote a poem about it: And I hope you enjoy it!

The timid and tender

Greens of spring

Fearful of winter’s strike

So new on the trees

Backlit by the sun

Pale and shimmering

In the hesitant light

So cautiously

Growing day by day,

Soon they will be

The brassy overheated

Greens of high summer

Their virginity lost

In the sun’s harsh light
